Aura Temple, 29, is the daughter of accomplished contralto vocalist Teresa von Hagel and West Indian born steel drummer, David Temple.
Aura attended highschool in Oakhurst California and flourished in the arts. She departed for Bennington College in Vermont on a literary arts scholarship provided by the widely known Harcourt Press. There she studied ceramics classical poetry under the Pulitzer Prize winner Steven Sandy.
Next Aura interned at the African American Museum of Art in Fresno California. After completing her term in Vermont, Aura set out for Atlanta where she studied clay sculpture under FRED AJANU the famous sculptor to Maya Angelou. She also collaborated on a mural work with STEVE R ALLEN (responsible for the Official Olympic artwork in Atlanta, Syndey, Salt Lake City, Athens, Torino, Bejiing) That mural is available for viewing at Morris Brown College in Atlanta Ga.
Aura Temple is an accomplished poet, painter and she is completing her first series of childrens books available next spring through her own publishing company, Heavyweight Publishing Llc. est. 2009.
Aura has three young children and resides in the Roswell Art District of Georgia. You can find her performing spoken word poetry at various Jazz clubs in Atlanta.
